18"x18" Bottom Hinged Intake Door with 24vac Electrical Interlock, "R" Series

18"w x 18"h Bottom hinged, hand-operated, self-closing, positive latching, 1-1/2 hour UL labeled chute intake door assembly complete with 24vac electrical interlock. Includes replaceable "T" style handle with key, latch assembly, and door closer. Door uses a 1/2” shaft and flanged bronze bearing hinge system which is welded to the door and frame. The panel can not be removed or replaced. Door panel made with a 22 gauge type 304 stainless steel front with a No. 4 finish and 18 gauge galvannealed steel back. Closer is exposed to the door opening for ease of replacement; however, wears quicker than the "W" series from exposure to waste. "T" style handle can be changed to pull handle with thumb latch trigger at no additional charge.

When ADA compliance is required these doors can be customized with ADA compliant lever handles. Includes a 24vac electrical interlock with push button and in-use indicator light. Interlocks allow only one door open at a time to reduce clogging and enhance safety during peak usage periods. User must unlock the door by pressing the button then operating the latch or handle separately. Interlocks are designed to be normally locked so that in a power failure doors can not be opened. This also allows all doors to be locked out by turning off the power switch when working beneath the chute, greatly reducing liability and injuries.

Our 24vac electrical interlocked, chute intake doors are engineered for use on a Class 2 circuit; therefore the intake door electrical panels and components are UL listed. Wiring is with exposed (no conduit required) cable inside the shaft in most applications. Check with your local building authority regarding installation requirements. Requires power supply for operation. Power supply is available for up to 20 doors or 20-40 doors. Systems for taller buildings or more than 40 doors are available.

Can be retrofitted to others chutes with sheet metal adaptors and wall modifications to fit chute door openings for doors of the same size. However, interlock compatibility must be determined prior to ordering as a replacement. Complies with building codes, NFPA-82 and ASTM standards.
